Geraldton Universities Centre: 2025 Hollomby Foundation Scholarships Awarded

Through the generous support of our scholarship donors, $85,000 in scholarships were awarded to 29 Geraldton Universities Centre (GUC) students at our annual Hollomby Foundation Scholarship Presentation Event.
Named in honour of the late Joe Hollomby, the Hollomby Foundation Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students studying a degree course through the GUC. A broad range of individuals and organisations across the Mid West provide scholarships.

The event also saw the presentation of two clocks, handmade by Joe Hollomby’s son Les.  Les kindly donated the clocks in recognition and to thank long-term donors to the Hollomby Foundation. The first of this year’s clocks was presented to Hollomby Foundation Patron Mumbida Wind Farm in acknowledgment of their $150,000 donation to the Hollomby Foundation to provide scholarships over ten years. The second went to Mid West Ports for their sponsorship of the Hollomby Foundation Travel Bursary program which over the past five years has supported over 60 students who are required to travel to complete components of their degree program, and for UniSQ nursing students to undertake their mental health clinical placements in Perth and Carnarvon.

The Hollomby Foundation has distributed more than $1,011,500 in scholarships since its establishment in 2010.
