Minister for Education Meets with ACSES Team During Perth Visit

On November 11 the Hon Jason Clare MP, Minister for Education, visited the Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success and Regional University Study Hubs (RUSH) Network offices at Curtin University. The Minister's day began with the official opening of the new Northam Study Hub, followed by his John Curtin Prime Ministerial Library Anniversary address. He was welcomed by Professor Harlene Hayne, Vice-Chancellor, Curtin University, Professor Shamit Saggar, Executive Director, ACSES and Amma Buckley, Project Manager, Regional University Study Hubs Network.

Throughout the visit, Minister Clare outlined his views on how ACSES can contribute significantly to achieving the goals of the Australian Universities Accord and facilitating the creation of the Australian Tertiary Education Commission (ATEC). The ACSES team valued the chance to meet with Minister Clare and anticipates maintaining their productive partnership as efforts continue toward building a more accessible and forward-thinking tertiary education system.

The visit underscores the important role ACSES plays in shaping regional and remote tertiary education access across Australia. As the government moves forward with implementing the Australian Universities Accord recommendations, ACSES remains committed to working alongside federal partners to ensure all Australians, regardless of location, have pathways to quality higher education and the opportunities it provides.
