The PKUC Broome Hub is thrilled to share that, due to increasing demand, we have moved to a larger facility. There is a clear need in Broome for a safe, comfortable space where regional students can study 24/7 and access face-to-face support. We are proud to be the only hub in Broome offering round-the-clock access and students are excited about our new space.

Since opening in July 2023, the Broome Hub has registered a total of 180 students, all of whom come from diverse backgrounds, ages, and experiences, representing a wide range of genders and fields of study across the West Kimberley. Approximately 45 students are currently using the hub regularly, and as word continues to spread about our professional services, supportive environment, and excellent facilities, more students are registering and making the most of this wonderful space.

Our new hub is nearly three times the size of our previous location and features:

  • 12 dedicated study desks, with widescreen and/or two monitors per desk

  • A larger conference room that comfortably seats 8 people

  • A dining area and kitchenette

  • A separate staff room

  • A printing room

  • On-site toilets

Additionally, whiteboards have been installed on all walls to support students with their studies.

It is a fantastic space that students are already enjoying. Here are some of their thoughts:

Postgraduate Doctor of Medicine – Notre Dame University student:

"This space has helped the Post Graduate students out so much. We have been able to access the facility 24/7 and utilise the conference room for group study. The whiteboards have been invaluable in assisting us with our study."

Bachelor of Science, Paramedicine student – ECU:

"It is so helpful to have a 24/7 study space, which is clean, comfortable and safe and I can come and use it after hours any time I like."

Uni-Prep, ECU student:

"It is so nice to know I can come to this welcoming environment and have the face-to-face support from the PKUC team to assist me with my course."

Bachelor of Education, Primary, Curtin student:

"This space is just awesome, I can come here after work and focus on my studies and know I can ask for advice from the PKUC team if I need support."

Year 12 ATAR High School student:

"I am so happy that I can finally use this space to study in quiet for my ATAR exams."
