Welcome Brunch Marks Record Student Numbers at Barossa Regional University Campus

Barossa Regional University Campus (BRUC) has kicked off its biggest year yet, with more students actively using the campus than ever before. The BRUC Welcome Brunch, held on Friday, March 14, brought together students, local leaders, and community members to celebrate record student numbers, growing engagement, and the support available to help students succeed.

Attendees included Light Regional Council, Barossa Council representatives, RDA BGLAP Chair Rolf Binder, and RDA

BGLAP CEO Jennifer Lynch, alongside students taking advantage of the study spaces, student support, and industry connections available at BRUC.

Interim BRUC Manager Nathan Little shared key updates on campus growth in a keynote presentation:

  • 715 students have registered with BRUC since July 2019

  • 297 students are currently enrolled—the highest number to date

  • 1,900+ espressos brewed since the campus coffee machine arrived in 2024, fuelling students through long study sessions

"We’ve never had this many students actively using Barossa Regional University Campus, and the numbers tell a clear story—students want a place where they can focus, connect, and get real support. Whether they need a quiet study space, career pathways advice, or just a well-earned coffee break, BRUC is here to make it easier. It’s exciting to see more students discovering what’s available and making the most of it," said Nathan Little, interim campus manager.

BRUC is open to all higher education students, no matter where or what they study.
